RE: Cut Chamber To????????

I went with .297 That is what the MGM smith recommended. Shato-I was not ordering a custom reamer. It was my smith that asked me what diameter I wanted it reamed to. .297 should give me .003-.004 in clearance. Does that sound right to you guys? I have until Monday for a final decision.

This rifle is going to be used as my go to ground hog rifle this year. Tom.

Ifthe neck wall thickness on your brass is pretty consistent, you will be fine. Norma 6.5-284 brass has been pretty good in the past. If you are going to neck down Winchester .284 brass and not outside neck turn, however; I would recommend the .299 neck for a field gun.
