I wouldnt recommend this load at all..but my 270 seems to group best and shows absolutely no pressure signs with 59 grains of 4831sc...this is with a Nosler Solid base. I havent tried anything else yet but the 4831 seems to work...still new to this and kept going up on grains and the groups kept getting tighter till I finally just said enough..lol.
After lookin at Reloaders nest I seen some loads up to 61 grains of 4831..lol. I need to chrony mine and see where Im at buit the recoil is getting fairly stout at the 59 gr level.

I use 57grs. of IMR 4831 in Win or Fed cases with 130gr Hornady interlocks backed by magnum primersFed or CCI.This load has taken a lot of game in the 25 or so years I've used it deer, moose, bear and antelope.Nice to hear some Christian views out there! Here's a bumper sticker I saw the other day that about says it all:Try Jesus Christ! If you don't like him the devil will always take you back!.......Reguards.............Harold

I just wanted to give a little update in reference to helping my neighbor find a good load for his Browning Bar .270 and the 130gr Sierra Pro Hunter. I tried several different powders that you guys recommended and got the best results with H4831. The RL22 shot good and the IMR4350 also shot very well but the H4831 shot the most consistent and tightest groups. My friend is well pleased with this load and it should do a fine job on deer.Again Thanks for all the imput! Over the years and a couple differnt 270's I find both IMR and H 4350-4831 work well but of late H-450 is my favorite. H-450 is no longer made but fortunatly I have 5# or so stashed away.
