I am going to start reloading for my new .223. Question. I was thinking about ordering bulk ammo from Cabelas or somewhere - cheap stuff for the brass or is there a better way to obtain uniform brass ?
Please advise a new reloader... and thanks for your input.....

I'll tell you this much if your considering buying the bulk stuff from Cabelas, the stuff that comes with an ammo can. Consider buying the Selier and Belliot, it actually works out to be cheaper without having to remove the military crimp on the primer pocket when you reload.

It is cheeper buying new brass. Buy a couple 100 pieces or more, and sort them out by weight. Go to www.grafs.com ; Remington 223 Rem. brass is $15.49 per. 100 pieces. Good luck.

A lot of people don't bother picking up thier 223 ammo so it is just left on the range. I got 3000 rds of once fired federal ammo for $60.00 at a shooting range. It might have helped that a friend is the rangemaster .

I get most of my brass at the local gun shop or gun shows, and save on shipping charges...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

The last time I bought .223 brass I bought a 5-gal bucket of it for $.04 each, resized and primer crimp removed.......and I've had no complaints since.....!
