44mag load for deer

anyone out there ever use a 44 mag carbine for deer?I have never used this caliber before for deer and was wondering if any one had any tried and proven loads they like and general information on using this gun for deer, its a ruger deerfield 44 mag carbine, and is extremely accurate and fun to shoot with 240 gn factory loads. I do hand load but have not tried the 44 loadings yet. I know there has got to be someone out there who has experience hunting and loading with this weapon so any knowledge shared with me will be appreciated........thanks

RE: 44mag load for deer

I load for a 44 mag in a 1894 Marlin and use the hornady 240 gr xtp bullets .Its very good on deer at close range according to my son ,but I have never tried it myself. Its a lot of fun to shoot I will say that .
