I would pick the bullet that would give the BEST performance "in" the "biggest" animial i'd be shooting. And, when i was shooting deer with a .243 Win. it was 100 grain NP's that outclassed all of the others...

My choice would also be for the biggest game being deer as DM mentioned so I would give the Barnes 85 gr. TSX a try to see how they would shoot. Expansion might be minimal but should still do the job on small game...

Varmits are one thing, deer is another wake up. Unless you have a tack driver this seems to just be a hairbrained idea. But than that's just my thoughts.

I'll assume that he has a tack driver (probably a Savage too :D). I'd go with a heavy bullet that will kill a deer effectively at 300 yards and still beable to reach out to 600+ to smack them PD's around.

One bullet I am aware of that seems to do both things pretty well is actually a "varmint" bullet, the 85-grain Sierra HPBT. But the people I know who've used it on deer say it is pretty effective for that too.

However, my "one choice" for thje 6mm bore size is the 95-grain Nosler Partition......

I shoot a 6mm with 85 grain sierra HPBT gamekings with excellent results on varmints the biggest animal ive shot with them were coyotes. Im hoping to someday give them a try on pronghorn and without any doubt id try them on deer aswell.

I might choose the Sierra 100 gr. Pro Hunter; although the 95 Partition and the 85 gr. Sierra HPBT would be in serious contention. And I would load it with IMR 4350.
