decaping live primers

I was just wondering if it is safe to remove a live prime from a shell? Or will it go off from the pressure of pushing it out?

Don't do it. Just stickthem in the gun and fire them.

You don't plan on reusing them do you??
I have punched out plenty of live primers. the only one I set off was early on I used a hammer and punch. If you use a press and slow smooth movement your chances of setting the primer off are way less.
If you decide to try to decap live primers, USE SAFETY GLASSES AND GLOVES

I've done it. I don't claim that this is safe or recommended, but I don't hesitate to de-cap a live primer.

ive decapped many live primers with no problems, but i'd move the ram slowly feeling for any kind of hang up if it doesnt come out easily then Id stop and just pop it off in your gun then decap it.

can't reuse the primers... so dump the cases in a bucket of water for a bit... then deprime them...
