.22 FMJ terminal?

I saw some .224 Sierra FMJ at the gunshop today and I know the military .223 ammo is FMJ but what use does the reloader have for them? Do some prefer them for hunting even in the small .22 calibers? Do they hold up in yotes or do they tumble and come apart?

RE: .22 FMJ terminal?

some people prefer them for smaller fur bearing animals like fox, racoon and smaller animals since the non expanding projectile causes alot less tissue damage.

RE: .22 FMJ terminal?

That makes sense..I guess if they're too far for a .22lr. I was mainly wandering if they hold together through a coyote like a 30 cal FMJ will or if they tumbled and fell apart since they're so much lighter.
