RE: 7mm loads - need advice
Deerdown, I wouldnot say you ruined your gun by popping a 1/2 dozen through it, But if you are concerned take it to a respectale dealer and explain the situation and have him look it over.
As far as the bolt closing hard with the reloads you got from your friend, that could be caused by a few things. it could have been due to long seated bullets, or the cases not sized correct, or could be that they needed trimmed. Have you tried any of the ammo that you have used prior to using the reloads? Lets face it you would know your gun better than any one else. Shane |
RE: 7mm loads - need advice
ORIGINAL: deerdown2 I had someone reload some 7mm Remington mag shells for me for me. Need your expert advice. He loaded 7mm Rem Mag, 140 gr bullets, with 69 grains H4831. Says it is a hot load. My concern: is it too hot. Is it safe?Shooting them using Rem 700 ADL,4 year old model...Appreciate expert replies only, don't need anyone's guesses. No offense intended. sounds about like a 7mm weatherby mag charge weight.... if the guy is like 80 years old its possible he goofed and used 7mm wby mag data when loading your 7 rem mag?? |
RE: 7mm loads - need advice
ORIGINAL: deerdown2 He did not work up to that load by test firing, increasing the load, etc. He just loaded them Saif the Rem Mod 700 takes 540000 psi and these would produce only xx0000 psi. Showed me the Hogdons book that seemed to prove him correct...but I don't reload, |
