RE: Dont you just hate it when this happens...

Guys, a few tips on shooting tight groups:
1. Place the rifle on the rest at the same point on the stock.
2. Be conscience of cheek pressure and shoulder pressure on the stock. (Be consistant)
3. Don't anticipate the shot. Relax, Squeeze the trigger smoothly.
4. Make sure you are comfortable.
5. Don't force the sights to the target. (cross hairs should 'hoover' around the bull without using muscle tension to hold it there.

Hope this helps you younger guys. I ain't saying I'm an expert but I sent many, many bullets downrange in my years and want to share my experience with all of you, and maybe learn a few things myself along the way.

It's a pressure thing and no one can put more pressure on you than you can! It's the nature of reloading, if you weren't a perfectionist you wouldn't be reloading in the first place. Most of us do this to improve over factory, and maybe to use a combination of bullet and powder or primer that we can't buy readyrolled. But very few rifles will shoot their best with factory ammo. My best average groups are shot at 10-12 x because I can't see the groups clearly. I was shooting at 230 yds with my Savage 223 one day when I had 4 touching and the 5th opened the group to .625 . I was dissappointed with the so called flyer at the time but have since realised that it was a fluke and me or my rifle are not capable of a repeat performance! On a good day we can do 1"- 1.5" at that range, and I'm very happy with that.

Here is how I solved the problem I shoot the last round first and get it out of the way , then I finish with the other 4 so now I have no fliers. I like bronko list ,he has some great basic shooting listed for ya!! All I will say is shoot shoot shoot that is the way to get better. Learn your rifle and your round.
