I have a Timney that I bought and can't tell the difference between it and the factory Remington trigger. Both are set at 2 1/2 lbs and have no travel. The factory triggers have the exact same adjustment screws and consistently go off at my set poundage.

Never saw the purpose of an aftermarket trigger on a 700 unless you want or need a trigger break of less that 1.5 lbs. The 700 trigger is very easy to adjust, and if you are worried about safety, simply adjust the overtravel and tension screws and leave the sear engagement alone.

I should have mentioned.... I shoot mauser', all either mil-spec or custom and the trigger is the first to go on the custon stuff...... the old mil-spec trigger goes in the case any problems on the hunt and I can switch off.
