I'm another vote for the Sierra 85gr HPBT GameKing too. With 44.0grs of AR2209 (=H4350), they consistently shoot sub 0.5" (usually a single ragged hole) and have taken all game from bunnies to boars with outstanding results.

I have a couple of boxes of Remington Express 100gr PSP CoreLokts to try out on game, but I'm not too impressed with the 2"-3" groups. Penetration in wet newsprint is comparable with the 85gr HPBT. However, the 100gr PSP CoreLokt retains more weight and doesn't shed its jacket.

Sierra 85gr HPBT GameKing (44.0grs of AR2209) - on left
Penetration = 12.1"
Retained Weight = 31.1grs (36.6%)
Expanded Diameter = 0.44"

Remington 100gr PSP CoreLokt (Express Factory) - on right
Penetration = 12.3"
Retained Weight = 64.9grs (64.9%)
Expanded Diameter = 0.53"

For hogs, depends on how BIG they get! I'd use a 95 or 100-grain Nosler Partition bullet for hogs.....

You cannt go wrong with the partition. I used the interlock to take a whitetail this last season, it worked well. It retained 75% of its weight. DOnt push it too fast though, it is a locked bullet not a bonded. At close range it may come apart more that you might like. EJ

when you mentioned "With 44.0grs of AR2209 (=H4350)," do you mean Hodgdon 4350?

Correct, it's the same powder. ADI produce AR2209 for the Australian market and Hodgdon H4350 for the American market.

The rifle is a Remington 700SPS Stainless with a 24" barrel. The Sierra 85gr HPBT are seated 0.015" of the rifling for a COL of 2.651". Every rifle is slightly different, so the COL may vary. I haven't measured the velocity yet, but they are snappier than the Remington 100gr PSP CoreLokt factory loads. I'm estimating around the 3100ft/s mark.

Hope that helps.
