Shotgun Primers

Went through my reloading cabinet and found a box of Rem. # 57 shotgun primers. I haven't loaded any shotgun ammo in over 20 years. What's the difference between the 57 and 209 primers?

The 57 primer is a slightly smaller diameter than a 209. I don't think they have made the 57 in a while.

For some reason Remington used to make the primer holes in their shotshells smaller in diameterthan other brands, hence the #57 primer.
