i recently went out and bought a bag of new winchester brass for my 223. It's been so long since i bought brass i know this is a stupid question but does the brass already come resized or do i have to resize it? Normally i dont buy brass i just use brass from before i started reloading but it was time for some new. So do i have to resize it fella's or is it already resized?

Yea, its sized enough to work, but usually inconsistent shoulder measurementsand some dented necks, sometimes little longer than it should be. So I go ahead and FL size, trim, and deburr.

Yeah, I also do the same as BigCountry----I feel it's the best thing to do. Doesn't take that much time.

yep, at least partial f/l resize, in shipping they get banged around. I would never take brass new out of a bag and press bullets in them.

I also FL size everything before getting started.

I run it through the neck only.....Winchester brass is very good but still has dents in the neck. IMHO, you don't need to do a full resize. Measure a few, and if they are close.....go for it. Regards, Rick.

I full re-size all my new brass, also always check the length, and trim if needed.

I'm with Rick. Why work the brass, or have to clean the brassone more time???? I make sure the necks are round, deburr them and load my load.

No brass is going to give it's best accuracy untill it's fireformed anyway, so i see no sense in another step in sizeing new brass.

I ream the primer pocket uniform, de-burr the flash hole, fl resize and trim.
