Best deer bullet ????

Give Me Your thoughts on the best medium game bullet You have used. Something that would be good for deer in the 120 to 150 G arena. You pick Your favorite calaber, I will be using 284 / 7mm. I am just talking about bullet preformance, not calaber size. Thanks in advance !!!

I have found the Nosler Partition bullets to work very well on game of all sizes. In the 7mm size,140 and 160 grain weights are both very good choices for deer up to big mulies!

I have had great results with the 140 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip shot from a 7mm-08. Although I have not shot them in 7mm, I used 150 grain Nosler accubonds from a .30-06 this past deer season. They seemed to give the accuracy of the Ballistic Tips, yet held together better. All exited the three deer I shot this year, after encountering a combination of shoulders, ribs, spinal column, etc. The internal wound channel resembled Balistic Tip performance. I'm sold on the Accubond for deer!!

My best bud shoots 280 and 7mm mag and he likes the accubond (140 grain I think) and the hornady interbond (160 grain I think) I have seen them used and they both work well.

.277 Cal 130grn Nosler Bt.

Looks like a bomb went off inside of a deer. Bullet fragments everywhere. No need for blood trail if the deer is laying right where you shot him. My perfect bullet/shot makes you think the deer didnt even hear the gun go off before it was dead.

No pun intended, but this is really a loaded question. You can't give the best deer bullet without giving the caliber. If I was to say 100 gr. It would be correct for a .243 but not a 30-06. So with that my preference is as follows:
.243 100 gr Nosler BT or Hornady Interlock
.270 130 gr Nosler BT
.284 139 gr Hornady Interlock
.308 150 - 180 gr Hornady Interlock
.35 200 Gr Hornady
.458 - 300 gr Hornadys
You seeing a pattern her? I hope so, cause IMO you don't need a Premium bullet for deer.

Orginal Swift Scirocco in everything, except 308 and 30.06 which are game king 150.

I like bronkos answer. I think non premium bullets are better for deer. Many of the premium bullets just don't meet enough resistance on deer to perform like the are intended. There are a few exceptions however. The Nosler partition performs well on everything. My main choices for deer are the Nosler BT, TheSierra Pro-Hunter, and the Federal factory loaded Fusion cartridges. The latter performs better in the 270 than anything I have ever seen.

My favorite is sierra gamekings, the most accurate by far. My neighbor has tried many different bullet types also, now he wants nothing but remington corelocks. Says the kill better than anything else he's used.

243 - 95gr Combined Technology BT
7mm - 139gr Hornady SST

I also agree that it is better to use a non-premium bullet on deer. I have a buddy that blasts deer with the biggest/baddes bullets he can find for his 300WSM and is always disappointed at the results (He wants big holes, massive trama etc), instead he is gettin a 30 cal entrance hole and a nickel sized exit at most.

When in doubt, and even when not in doubt:D, I vote Nosler Partition. When things don't go as expected it still has things covered. Two bullets in one!!!

Sniper, I can agree with you on the dependability of the NP but I don't have a rifle that will shoot any Nosler worth a d--n , execpt for the 30 cal 168 gr custom competition which is neck and neck with the sierra match. I bought some 224 cal n. partisions and they will not group into 3 " at 100 yds from my mod.12 savage and that sucks. I dont want anyone to see my 223 shoot that awful.

In my 7mm-08 I use Speer 145 Grn SP HotCor for open fields and Hornady 154 Grn RN in the woods. Both shoot sub MOA in my Rem 700 Mtn LSS.

I think that Nosler should make a Partition bullet with a balistic tip. That might be the perfect deer bullet.

I dont think anyof the bonded stuff gets to do what they where made for inlight skinned deer unless they are screaming.

The thing is if someone is confident in a certain bullet and has had good luck with it then it is prob perfect for them.

I havea bud who owns 1 rifle its a Rem 7600(270Win) he has hunted for years with it. He has a crappy tasco scope and uses regular old green box Rem 130grn corelokts. He shoots about 3 times a year, once at a roofing nailholding up a paper plate at 50yards before season tomake sure its still onandhe hits it on the 1st shot everytime and 2 more times at the 2 bucks he killseach year. He says the perfect bullet is the one Walmart has on sale next week. Its hard to argue with results. He says his idea of reloading is adding 3 more rounds to his clip each year before season.

I have always been pleased with 150gr NBT out of my 7mm rem mag for deer. However many others will work as well just depends on what your gun likes and suits your situation. I am going to work with some 140 AB's this summer in the 7mm rem mag, we'll see if the NBTs get shelfed.
