RE: 223 Varmit load
i dont know if you're a reloader or not so ill list a few options. If you want factory shells fora decent price check out the remington 55gr powerlokt hp i believe i used 2 buy em for like 13 a box 2yrs ago. If you reload try 55gr sierra hpbt's. My pet load is 21.9gr of imr 4198 cci small rifle primers with the 55gr sierra. Each gun is different though. My 223 likes anything you feed it...

RE: 223 Varmit load
I bought the bulk box of Speer TNT HPs for my 223 and they worked great on everything up to coyote sized critters.

RE: 223 Varmit load
For varmints, I use 50 grain V-Max or 52 gr. BTHP match, either Speer or Hornady. I use 28 grains of IMR 4320 for the V-Max, and 28 grains of Win. 748 with the 52 gr. BTHP's. However, don't start them at this. The primers show some pressure signs at this level.

RE: 223 Varmit load
My favorite 223 load is a 55 grain V-Max, 26.5 grains of H4895, a Remington 7 1/2 primer, and a Remington case. Shoots real well in all my 223s
