comparing scales

What does everyone think comparing digital to mechanical scales?

I like balance beams over digital cause it updates real time. There sometimes is a lag with the update on digital. I like digital for measuring static items like broadheads, brass, etc.

He's talking about when you are adding small ammounts of powder (.5 grains etc...) to get the exact ammount you want the beam scale instantly changes where as the digital scale you have to wait for the electronics to catch up to you.

There's nothing more aggrivating trickling a load and then you overshoot your target load because your scale didn't update quick enough. NOw you got to pour out a few grains and start trickling again.

bigcounrty hit the nail on the head. I use a beam scale for measuring powder and a digtal for brass, bullets, and what my powder measure is throwing.

Bigbulls,

Lag with RCBS chargemaster 1500. I just purhcased that scale and have been reloading for a while now. It seems to work great and very quick. Has anyone had a problem with this scale.
