RE: Any good 280 loads?

i load the 175 grain NP exclusively in my 280 rem.. except for coyote and woodchuck (100 grain Hornady HP @ 3400)... this allows me to keep a single bullet on hand for big game that works on pretty much everything i hunt and it is accurate out of my tube... i use IMR 7828 and H4831SC... my pet load for her is 57.0 grains of H4831SC and the 175 NP... It chrono's on a 40 degree day right around 2750... and it won't break your shoulder... i load with a CCI BR-2 primer and Winchester Nickel brass that has been neck sized after firing...

I had great success with a Nosler 140 gr Ballistic Tip, IMR4350, CCI 200's, and Rem Brass in my Rem M700 KS Mountian Rifle.

RE: Any good 280 loads?

My partner use a Abolt 280 rem. His deer/elk and moose load of choice is 160gr CT Failsafe.

The load he used last fall to anchor all three animals is as follows:
210 Federal Match Primer
54 Gr IMR 4831
Rem Cases
160 gr CT Failsafe
.02" off the lands

Produced 2840FPS and shade under 1" groups at 100 yards

Another that showed promise was RL 19, however didn't have the time to work through it so stuck with IMR4831.

If you want to see what that 280 is capable of go to www.longrangehunting.com Theres some really good load data listed there for every application you could come across in the hunting world
