Favorite rifle primer
 

What is your favorite primer? CCI, Federal, Winchester, or remington? For .270's and .300wsm

Out of the two for the 270 I like the Winchester primers the best.

I am not trying to be smart, but shouldnt testing decide what your rifles favorite primer is.........I have had flyers before and by switching primers took care of the problem. I have kinda noticed Win primers (which is usually what I start with) are a little hotter than the rest. IMO I dunno I may be wrong.

I have had the best luck with federal 210s and 215s.I have had two dud primers in 25 years and both were cci.

Winchester primers seem to work best in my loads.

i pretty much use the CCI BR-2 in most of my rifles... they really tend to cut the deviation through the chrono for most of the stuff i reload for... but i have federals and regular CCI and remingtons and winnies that i toss in to find the "perfect" match also...

I am just starting out on a couple of my first loads for my .270. I want to buy something to try and wanted to start with what most thought was a bit better. I will buy some Federals and Win. to start with and I guess go from there. Thanks

Well, I use one brand of primer. Always have, and have not reason to change anytime soon. I use CCI. That is one component that I use across the board for all of my reloading, mainly to minimize confusion, and make shopping a little easier I guess. I could just as easily change over to Win or Rem or Fed or whatever, but my grandpa has used them for years, and I see no reason to change.
