How much powder above max do you load with barnes TSX.

Just wondering how much above the max powder for the normal barnes X bullet doYOU all load for the triple shock.

For my 257 AI with 100 gr Barnes TS bullets , I ended up at listed max .
This was for accuracy not pressure signs.

Barnes says

In some cases, pressure will be reduced, allowing you to add a couple of grains (in 1/2 grain increments) of powder to the maximum loads listed, while watching carefully for signs of pressure.

Yea I know, I was just curious how many people did load the Triple Shock and if they went through the 1/2 grain incriment increase process and where they ended up. Also I'd like to know where they ended up with OAL?

I would probably go by %. So for my 300RUM. YOu could go probably 4% over max and be safe. I know I went 4% and never saw pressure signs with RL25. All the way past recommended max with XLC.

But when I got down to loads in the 40-50gr region, I would be careful never to go over 2gr. Or if you do, go in .5 gr increments until you see pressure signs.

In my 7/08 I tried 48 gs and 50 grs of IMR 4350 and stopped there because it was max in some manuels and both gave me one hole or close to it @100 yds.The spear goes to 52 grs though(this is with a 120 gr bullet)
With varget I went with 46 grs which gave me 1/4 in groups and what I have seen was one gr over max.
In my 270wsm I used barnes load sheet which gave 66.5 grs of IMR4831 with a 130 gr bullet ,which gave me less than 1/2 in groups.
Probably won't use them for deer around here because a reg bullet will take any deer around here but did use one in the 270 wsm to take a hog with back in march.
They shot great and left very little copper in the barrel.Don't remember what the col was on them though, but did set them back some.

I don't have any barnes data but comparing my tsx loads to my loads for nosler bullets of the same weight,my powder charges for the tsx are from 1 grain to 5 grains less. However the resulting velocities are slightly more than for my nosler loads.

Guys, no offense but you can't compare regular nosler, hornady, etc data for barnes, or TBBC or even failsafes. I highly suggest a barnes manual. Just my 2 cents.
