.454 Casull

I have seen new Barnes and Hornady 200grn. bullets for use in the new .460 S&W. Will they work in the 454 Casull? The are pointed instead of the big hollow point design. Will they work?

They should do fine .
Just have to keep the COL short enough to use in your cylinder.

May want to E - mail Barns and ask what rate of twist is needed to stabilize that bullet .
They may even give you some loading data

heres a link you guys might think is interesting, A line in the one of the paragraphs says the 460 is the 454 magnumised lol. From the looks of it aslong COL doesnt become a problem i dont see why you couldnt load those in a 454. but deffinately talk to hornady

You should be able to - but I'm curious - why?

RE: .454 Casull

Are you asking me why? Why did S&W make a .460 if it is a "magnumised" .454. Why not just introduce the 200 grn. bullets. I was going to see what kind of speeds I could get out of my .454 with the new 200 grn. bullets. The is no data for the 454 with them so how much better is the .460 with the same bullets? My Super Redhawk was $600. The .460 is double that.
