.223 Rem 65 & 70 grain bullets

If we go that heavy, what rate of twist will stabilize this? I come from the old days when the bullets were lighter.

A 1:9 twist should do fine with bullets up through the 75 gr. A-max. I know a 1:10 is right on the edge with a 69 grain Sierra at .223 velocities - good, but barely.

Thanks, Roskoe. Where I go, wind is almost always an issue.
