Default Word of the Day, September 18, 2018, Psalm 56:9-13

Word of the Day, September 18, 2018

ď Holy, holy, holy Lord, God Almighty. All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea. Holy, holy, holy merciful and mighty God in three persons blessed Trinity.Ē

Psalm 56:9-13

9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
10 In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

I say this today with all that I am, GOD is my divine deliverer. This I believe down deep. GOD is for me. As I breath, I know it is of GOD and His creation and my desire is to praise Him for all, for everything, for His mercy, His grace and the gift of His Son on a tree on a hill called Calvary to cover all my past, present and future sins.

As I was reading and studying the Word of GOD, these verses hit me like I had never read them before. (Love it when the Holy Spirit gives you a revelation of GODís word.) David is complaining of His enemies in the chapter and then starts to give GOD all the glory, giving GOD the credit, if you will, for the heavenly protection that David receives from Father GOD.

So Iíll ask you a few questions. Ready? Do we praise GOD for His Word? Do we put our trust in GOD and believe and not become afraid? Do we remember that GOD has given to believerís eternal life and we donít trust Him to protect us, to guide us here on earth? Do we walk in His light or trust in our own candle or in todayís world our smart phoneís lighting our way.

I am mentoring a young man and he asked me how to grow closer to GOD because he wants to be. I told him these five things. Be in His Word daily. Be in prayer with Him daily. Be in fellowship with other believers through His church. (Do not forsake church time) Take time to fast and be tithing His gifts that He given to you back to Him. If these five things are part of your walk with the Lord, I promise you that you will draw nigh to Him.

By reading the Bible you learn who GOD is and what Christ has done for us. By prayer we are speaking to our Lord and Saviour and having a one on one relationship with Him. By praising Him in worship and being taught by the chosen leader of His church and spending time with other believers, we will draw closer and closer. With fasting, it causes you to take your mind off yourself and focus on Him and giving of our first fruit (tithing) is a form of worship and to give back to GOD that has given you all that you have is honoring unto Him

Let me finish with this. I believe that if we are praising our LORD, that we are in His Word daily, that we are praying to our LORD and Saviour and that we are trusting in the LORD that it will be harder to be worried about self, to be farther away from sin and not worrying about things of this world. I speak from experience and all these things have changed my life and caused me to have a deeper relationship with my Abba Father. Remember this, if a believer, He has delivered my soul from death. Ponder that today!

Seek Him, Trust Him, Fear Him, Turn to Him and Praise Him today. Iíll make this bold claim; life will be so much more filled with peace and joy with Christ than without.

ď Praise to the Lord, who hath fearfully, wondrously, made thee! Health hath vouchsafed and, when heedlessly falling, hath stayed thee. What need or grief ever hath failed of relief? Wings of His mercy did shade thee.Ē
