What my son is doing for gun rights.

Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

What my son is doing for gun rights.

That is FANTASTIC!
Your son, you and your wife and the school are to be commended.

In Manhattan KS students are not allowed to mention "gun". They can not have literature about firearms or even display an NRA decal.

That's great. I would never have expected that to be allowed in todays society and especially in an elementery school in Colorado. The teacher and principal and you and yours need to be commended. Very good work .

Or could it be..........That most are afraid to seek the permission and push the issue a little bit.

Good Job to the both of you! Proof positive that sanity still has a chance in a post-Columbine Colorado. We have some pretty good prairie dogging up here in Sterling, so if you're ever going to be this out in this part of the state, let me know.

Bigbulls, Thank You for starting this thread as a spin off of the one I started last week. You and you boy are to be commended for your desire to show others what guns are about. I have been opening our gun club on Monday nights for people to come and shoot at fun targets. We have 5 young kinds who have been coming with their parents for a month now. Last night one of the parents asked how much longer we would be doing this? I said I would keep opening up the club for as long as people are showing up. I have designed targets that are no more or no less difficult to score on for parents or the kids. Neither has an advantage really when it comes time to scoring, so some of the kids are actually scoring better that the adults. We shoot .22 rifles at 50 feet indoors. They love it.

Thank your FFYG, I appreciate your support greatly. Sounds like you are doing a great job with the kids at your gun club. We can never have too many kids interested in the shooting sports.

An update about this: My son (btw, he is "little bow man 1" on this board) got his awards for the end of school today and one was a the "most likley to" award. His reads "most likley to lecture on the importance of gun safety." So it would seem that all is well with the school.

My wife talked to his teacher also and they have not received any bad calls about this either.
