Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If it is NOT handled carefully, it could be the subject of a legal challenge. If it were mishandled by the libs, it could result in appeal to the US supreme court and a precedential finding that discrimination based on race is not legal even when the victimized race is caucasian. I am speculating wildly, of course.

I saw this. How can this possibly be legal?

Bets on when "White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan vs. Evanston" makes it to the docket?

I think there is some irony hiding there but I'm not sure.

Not much. Anybody who is not a recipient of this money and lives in Evanston would have standing to sue. Not sure how big the Klan is in Evanston, but one thing is for sure - racism is alive and well there.

Seems like they're replacing one kind of racism with another. Pretty sad take away. Overcome slavery (on both sides) to become racists.

Waiting for a nice juicy lawsuit on this one. The 14th Amendment doesn't take kindly to this nonsense.

Its bass-ackwards to me how people become so intolerant of private racism, which is a person's individual right, yet completely accepting of government racism, which is unconstitutional.

I hope the stoners boycott Evanston on principle.

Good luck with that. How about, we give every man, woman, and child with African ancestry $250,000 and declare this issue resolved once and for all.

In the interest of full disclosure: I am "Black Irish".

How about we don't steal from people who have done no wrong, and not give to people who have not been wronged? Don't think for a minute that if you did this these same people would say "Well, I guess we're even now. We won't whine about reparations anymore".
