Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Bernie wants to legalize pot

Well looks like Bernie is pulling out all the stops. He announced that if elected he would by executive order in the first 100 days legalize pot. In addition he wants to expunge all pot convictions because they have been unfair to minority people and then as a follow up give out grants to people of color who want to be entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry. So this is what politics here in America has become. Even for liberals this has to smell bad. Talk about pandering for the vote. I suppose he will be right behind giving out reparations too.

Yep, he is going for the young and the stupid vote, the exact people who should not be voting at all. You have to be one or both of those categories to consider even for a millisecond about voting for that old washed up communist puke!

Right on.... but think about where he is and where he wants to go. He almost went to the big dance last time using the youth vote but struck out on minorities. Pandering to the black vote could be the key as long as the youthful Bernie clones get out of his way. I see AOC has thrown her endorsement Bernie's way so who knows what the future will bring from the other liberal socialists. Remember Obama didn't get elected just by white people. The 60's chant "we shall overcome" rings out in 2020.

Bathtub poison THC fluid solutions...found in some vapor e-products, is comparable to the "bathtub gin" fatalities we've experienced during the Prohibition. The only alternative to this --- imho --- is to legalize and regulate pot for mainly purity purposes.

I agree on the pandering. I also think Bernie probably realizes that he missed his best opportunity in 2016 when the DNC and Hillary screwed him. He's trying to remain relevant 4 years later with a lot of his own baggage. I don't think he'll win the nomination this time and will be even less relevant in 4 years.

In keeping with what Flags just said....Bernie, according to everything I have read, has the best approval numbers of any congressman in the nation. I have listened to some political pundits who say Bernie doesn't even have to campaign to get re-elected to his Congressional seat.

Sen. Bernie Sanders maintained his position as America’s most popular senator, with 64 percent of voters in his state approving of him. As he considers a second run for the presidency, the Vermont independent tops the list for the 11th quarter in a row. .... from Morning Consult

I know it is hard to believe but it seems that he has quite a following which is bizarre since most people I know hate the old socialist. His fan club has been Democrats and Independents who are on the lower income receiving portion of society which is always growing. He hasn't been accepted by minorities which is strange because for the most part a high percentage of them fall within the voter demographic that he appeals to. His latest position on pot is a move to remove that barrier and get the minority vote. He is dumb like a fox and always has been. I was a young Burlington resident and property owner in 1981 when he came out of nowhere and beat the incumbent mayor Gordon Pauquette by 10 votes. He served quite a few terms before he ran for a Federal Congressional position and always won by a landslide. Burlington at that time wasn't the liberal snake pit it is today. I can safely say his near decade of mayoral rule which was followed by a long run one of his chosen clones Peter Clavelle planted the Progressive Party seeds of what Burlington has become today. I am hopeful that his age and recent medical condition will serve to cause a loss in the POTUS Dem primary for him. I know short of him passing away he will probably remain one of our 2 Congressmen from Vermont. Both he and Pat Leahy need to go but unfortunately both are about bullet proof at least here in Vt. It is exasperating to live in rural conservative Vermont and be surrounded with like minded people only to have a liberal political wave happen which is controlled by Chittenden County ( Burlinton ) where about 1/4 of the people in the state reside. The only GOP to hold major political office in the state is a RINO Governor who has no veto power over a majority Democratic legislature. I hate what Vermont has become.
