Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I think I read it in this forum before that the Humane Society euthanizes a lot of the pets they save and spend a lot of money fundraising. I wish i knew somebody on the inside of both organizations cause I'd love to hear more information about both and what's really going on.

The Local Humane Society's and the Humane Society of the United States are two entirely different animals. The local Humane Societys actually rescue and care for cats and dogs and other animals. The HSUS is a fund raising organization to lobby against hunting and fishing and any use of animals such as cattle for good and milk etc. The salaries of the HSUS upper echelon are staggering. They are not involved in what most people, think they are.

I stand corrected but the HSUS was the organization I was referring to.

No problem, lots of people don't know the two organizations are not affiliated.

I know the difference. HSUS keeps giving camera work to all those washed up actors and actresses.

I got a renewal request today from GOA.

I suppose that's how it has to work when only doing a year membership.

Kind of makes me wonder how much they spend on trying to get people to sign up. They all seem to pull this now. I stopped being a Bassmaster member several years ago because of the incessant re-up mailings that constantly were asking for money. Same thing that NRA used too. Looks like GOA is the same.

I suppose in a perfect world they would send a renewal notice two months before a membership expires. Member would renew, and there wouldn't be a need for all these notices.

Since they do it-it must make them more money. Otherwise they wouldn't waste the time.

Spend money to make money. Add in all the people needed for this function and the costs for the renewal gifts if given must amount to a sizable amount and percentage of revenue coming in. I am probably a little different than many people but repeated renewals well in advance of my subscription expiration is the kiss of death.
