Default Bill Weld for president 2020

Bill Weld former Libertarian has announced his bid for the Oval Office. Presumably challenging President Donald Trump. Weld has been at it awhile and was appointment to the US Attorney for the District of Massachusetts by RONALD REAGAN. There he successfully fought Government corruption, and white collar crime. He was the Governor of Massachusetts for two terms and ran for Vice President as a Libertarian along with Johnson (who ran as President).

I know a great number of Republicans wish for a more Libertarian party. But they recognize that the Libertarian party itself is an election day looser time and again. Maybe Weld is an answer to their prayers? A further point I'd like to make is that Weld is pro abortion. Not my thing by any stretch but there may be a fair number of Democrats willing to jump ship for the right candidate. The question is how many Republicans will his abortion approval turn off?

He's made statements like he would like to cut all Federal programs by 20%. To me this says numbers over reality and consequences. But then, I'm not a republican or a government hater.

You forgot his anti gun stance and the rest of his socialist nonsense. He is MA liberal, the further est thing from a conservative as you can get. You would have to be brain dead to vote for him! He may as well be Hillary! Anyone who would vote for the likes of him should renounce their citizenship.

Yeah, he did flip flop on his gun stance. I would be asking him how a libertarian minded fellow would object to gun ownership in the first place. His answer would tell you as much about him as anything he feels about guns. Remember Trump flip flopped about abortion and we always welcome anyone to our point of view. It's more about how they came to it isn't it?

I don't mind saying that my opinion is that both parties need to start walking back from the extremes they reached. It's almost like we need a period of Détente to get a few things done. Then they can go back to their collective self serving agenda's. JMHO.

AMEN Oldtimr. He is also in favor of Legalized Murder of Innocent Children. Last figures I have seen state 879,000. Innocent Children were murdered (liberal say abortion) during the year 2017.

Bill Weld? Pfffffttttt.... I remember when this RINO was elected as Gov of Massachusetts back in the early 90's when I was stationed in Boston, back in my USCG days. He was a complete joke as a Governor and might as well had a (D) next to his name.

His only claim to infamous fame (from what I remember the media making a big deal out of).... Back in the early 90's when The Grateful Dead played 6 consecutive shows at the Boston Garden, Bill Weld and his wife were in attendance and even chatted with Jerry Garcia and the band, backstage after the show.

Bill Weld just announced he is in over his head and is now dropping out of the race.

Not really but it's a when not an if at this point. Last thing we needed was one liberal from NY. Now a liberal from MA wants the nod?
