I believe that you are right on all points Flags! I really believe that the Socialist Democrat Party is on a last desperate attempt to stay relevant in American politics! Two years of Mueller & Cronies hard work has not, and WILL NOT, provide ANYTHING to impeach Trump with!
Therefore, the tons money and media distortions are the ONLY THING standing between 2 terms of a Trump presidency and the death of the Socialist Democrat Party!

We should not lose either! Statistical history says that the party in the WH at mid terms loses seats! So technically, it would NOT be a "mandate," for the left's agenda, if we were to lose some seats! However, this IS AN IMPORTANT mid-term election! The left would say that it IS a MANDATE AGAINST Trump! But they DO NOT have any issues to run on other than "stop Trump," and undo what he has been able to do in the last two years! That's what makes these mid-terms so important!

My view looks like the left is going all-in, with a last-ditch, desperate effort to re-take Congress! Which will probably be their last chance to get President Trump out of the WH and from getting a second term!
Most of the skewed media reports show the socialist DEM's with a huge lead in spending, new voter registrations and too-close-to call races!
Even here in Texas, Ted Cruz, a sitting Senator and former presidential candidate, is in a very tight race against a newbie-nobody, who has more than twice the campaign money that Cruz has!
No doubt, all this DEM money is coming from a handful of deep-pocket socialist's such as George Soros, among others. All of the propaganda and spending shows just how desperate the left is, and they are hoping that this will discourage Conservatives from going to the polls!
IF, we Conservatives show up in November, it will be a major disaster for the socialist DEM's movement and will keep them from power for the foreseeable future! It's their last shot to beat the buzzer! AND WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!
1. Propaganda and spending is how the game is played.
2. The Dems have been going all in for quite some time. They just need a better message is all.
3. Could they get the two needed seats? Maybe. I believe seven are in play and who knows for a few others as well. I think Michigan will go blue, and Wisconsin and Ohio with them. But Florida, West Virginia, Nevada, Montana, Indiana, and now Missouri? It's certainly possible.
4. Trump's influence. I think it's more than some people realize.

On a side note. I went to vote today and there were two young white guys working the polls. So, I talked to both of them to show respect. The one guy pointed out to me that his candidate was for the middle class. So, I pointed out that the Middle class didn't live here. Just the working poor and a few lower Middle Class Firefighters and cops. It's sort of like the Clinton era all over again. The first guys asks: "Did you hear Trump has created 100,000 new jobs?" The second guy responds: "I know, I have three of them".

History and motivation, The left will be extremely motivated.

Don't get me wrong I certainly hope we gain seats everywhere.

The Dems are basically going to run on republican beliefs and a lot of people are just stupid enough to fall for it.

I hope the "green party" saves us and they just might.

I agree that we should not lose and that it is very important but I fear motivation will be the problem. The midterms after a presidential election are always about motivation.

The left will run on republican ideas in a lot of republican districts, Remember winning elections and milking the system is what they really believe in and care about not the people of any party, race, sex, or nationality.

like I said above the "green party" may save us which would be amusingly ironic.

I hear what you're saying. History has often shown a midterm gain for the opposing party in congressional elections. But this is a somewhat different context so the results may(hopefully) be different. In the past, the President's party tended to run out of the honeymoon phase and often gumption by the midterms of the first term. In Trump's case, neither of those seems to apply. He never really got a honeymoon phase but appears to be gaining traction with people who voted against him and he certainly doesn't seem to lack gumption. The left is very motivated but they also seem to be very fearful. So far, nothing they've tried has worked. Even though the same tactics have often worked against other Republicans. Based on everything I've seen so far, I just don't think the old rules, historical results and other political norms are going to apply here.

I don't really understand this line of thought. If the DEMS hold every seat they now hold they still don't take the house. In order to do that they need to take a bunch of seats from the GOP without losing any. That's a big order. If the GOP holds every seat they now hold they still maintain control and if they take a DEM seat then the DEMs are just that much farther back. The DEMs are the numerical underdogs and I don't believe the normal course of action in which the party holding the WH loses the congress will hold fast this time around. The DEMs have very little to offer and I really don't think the nation wants Piglosi running the house especially when she has publicly stated she will repeal the tax cut which would jeopardize the economy which has finally straightened out after the DEMs ran it into the toilet.

Also look at what happened in the elections just yesterday. The GOP came out the winner. A couple were very close, but it is the end count that matters and the DEMs fell short.
