If you are in Michigan, you won't see any signs to help you out regarding restaurants. We have the same 51% rule here. But you have to use common sense to decide if you are in a bar that serves food or a restaurant that serves adult beverages.

Michigan will honor a permit from any other state. But the permit here is a concealed pistol license, NOT a permit to carry a concealed weapon. No hunting knife in your belt underneath your coat.

The big issue here now, is open carry. It's legal here and you can open carry in places where you can't carry concealed. The moronic open carry fanatics are pushing the issue to the point that it's going to mess things up for everyone.
