Job growth surged in June, with U.S. companies adding 288,000 to payrolls, indicating that expectations for strong second-half economic growth will be fulfilled.
The unemployment rate dropped to 6.1 percent, its lowest since September 2008, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. An alternate measure of unemployment that measures those who have stopped looking for work or are working part-time for economic reasons also fell, to 12.1 percent, marking its lowest reading since October 2008.

Economists expected nonfarm payrolls to grow by 215,000 in June and the unemployment rate to hold at 6.3 percent, according to estimates from Dow Jones. That compares to the upwardly revised 224,000 reported for May.

Heading into June job growth had been averaging 197,000 per month. Thanks to revisions to previously reported numbers—April's total swelled to 304,000 from 282,000—average job growth for the past three months came in at 272,000.

So, in 6 years OBozo finally managed to get unemployment back to where it was when he took office. And you think that shows something positive? You're totally ignorant. That means we still have 6 years of negative employment numbers the country needs to recover from. Besides, everyone knows the actual number is B.S. because it doesn't include those that don't even bother looking for work.

OBozo's multiple failures still include 20,000,000 more people on food stamps, decreased world standing and fuel prices escalating across the board. When he took office gas was less than $1.92 a gallon on average. What did it cost the last time you filled up?

As usual, your idiocy is on public display.

Where on earth do you get your information.

The previous administration caused a catastrophic collapse of the financial markets that put us into a recession of a lifetime. BHO entered the WH with 500-600,000 per month job losses. Also, read the bottom of my post. 12.1% is the total not working and to argue your point he was finally able to dig us out the hole and get us back to where it was before the previous guy caused the meltdown.

Fuel prices were at their highest right before the meltdown.

I know you wont like the chart because it is just facts.

Actually under BHO you have enjoyed not having a significant increase at all. Considering inflation etc they are actually lower than when Dubya was ruining us.

Twisting the facts to a single day when BUSH caused the total meltdown and no one would buy gas futures is yet another sign of dumbness and fact twisting to support your negativity. How many days during the DUBYA administration did you fill up for $1.92

Don't worry if the GOP gets back in you will probably have a repeat of what Dubya did and gas will go from $4 to $12. When Dubya entered the WH gas was $1.50 when he left it was $4.50. Tripled the price. Look at the facts

Decreased world standing? - I voted for him because he promised to stop pushing ourselves upon other countries and he promised to get out of IRAG.

The world is a significantly better place these last 6 years than the previous 8 for darn sure. Americans are not getting killed at a made up war and we aren't getting attacked nearly as much. Not even close.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/101810685

from a liberal news source

A number of economists look past the "main" unemployment rate to a different figure the Bureau of Labor Statistics calls "U-6," which it defines as "total unemployed, plus all marginally attached workers plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of all civilian labor force plus all marginally attached workers."

In other words, the unemployed, the underemployed and the discouraged—a rate that still remains high.

Red face

It's common knowledge that you are no longer considered unemployed if you have been unemployed for a certain period of time.

Let's correct the falsehoods here.

We're at 1970s level for jobs in America. We now have more people in the cart due to Obama.

We added 250k part time workers. Not full time workers due to ACA.

We lost 600k people a month only after Obama was elected president. NeverWill always leaves out that point that it was CEOs getting ahead of the disastrous presidency.
