Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Hooray for Tejas, it's a great day to be a Texan!

(unless, of course, you're one of those C+ lawyer wannabe types)

I found this interesting. My dad was a police officer in the 70s and he always told us, "if you ever shot someone, make damn sure they are in your house, say, 'ive got a gun' as you shoot, and tell theofficer taking yourstatement that you feared for your life andyou had nowhere to retreat to." He always told us that to keep us from litigation. I guess its not that big of a deal now. I dont know why Texas never passed the Castle doctrine in the first place.

Really, I mean come on. Yes to the Horse Law, no to the Castle Doctrine?!

Congrats, Texas. Stay safe out there. And in there, for that matter.

Good thing for Texas. Nice to hear that some progress is being made on our side.

I hope NC is watching/learning.

I "pity the fool" that breaks into my house. Gonna be a bad day for that person. I take my familiy's protection VERY sriously. Guess they'd have to come see me in the big house afterwards.

we (Florida) passed that law awhile back. i'm not sure if we were the first to do so but we got plenty of national publicity and scrutiny for doing so.

Good deal, we've had the Castle Doctrine on the books in Vermontfor some time now. Once they pass the threshold into your house, open up!!! I also believe that if someone is on your property with a weapon threatening you, you can dispatch them where they stand. We have a very low incidence of home invasion up here.

I take my familys safety very seriously any laws go right out the window if someone is in my house. I will take the split second to make sure its not a family member, then bang your dead period no questions asked!!!
