Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I am a teacher and if I lost my cool in front of students some would be in dismay and others would chuckle. Guess what I also lost the respect of every student in that room. I was not in that room but it shocked me. Guess what it shocked Seinfeld, Rodriguez(Sp), and even Richards himself.

I totally agree. If this had been that hispanic comic and he called a hecklar we wouldn't have heard about it.
Ever listen to Carlos Mencia. Guess what? He has punch lines associated with his rant. And it is funny. Richards did not.......

Charlie suprised on your stance?

Won't phase his career one iota.

People in Hollywood are made of teflon and the public has a very shorty memory.

He'll continue to make them laugh and they'll continue to patronize his work.

Same with Gibson.

No big deal.

I think he made the mistake of brining back the notion of white superiority. Not the use of the forbidden Nword.I've seen where he said, "what ever happened to free speech"? Just likethe Dixie Chicks, you have the right to say what you want, just asothers have the righttorespond negatively to what you said.No one went to jail, sohe did have thefreedom of speech. This wont hurt his career, afterSeinfeld it was over already.I think he simply practiced poor judgment, especially in our racially, hyper sensitive world.

Buckmine, I'm just saying he screwed up big deal. Take a mulligan and go on.

I'm a pretty non racial guy and I let the N-Bomb go just last week.

Maybe some of you do not need to be worried about image control but my being a teacher I know image is important in other peoples lives. Maybe that is why I am one of few making a big deal about it and realize a Mulligan is not always an option.

Couldn't agree more.

I think this is a bit over the top:

"Once the word comes out of your mouth and you don't happen to be African-American, then you have a whole lot of explaining,"

Veteran publicist Michael Levine called Richards' remarks inexcusable.

This, is over the top:

"I've never seen anything like this in my life," Levine said Monday. "I think it's a career ruiner for him. ... It's going to be a long road back for him, if at all."
For one, people love controversy, the entertainment biz thrives on it. Also, people are rather quick to check their minds at the door, so this will be easily forgotten - too much love for Hollywood.

Buckmine, What's the matter you don't have tenure yet?

Tenure does not exist in Texas education anymore. No such thing as a tenured teacher. You can be canned at any given momment.[:'(]
