RE: Everyone get drawn for a doe tag?
I think that would be a great idea for some area's. I dont the think the whole province could sustain double tags though. The area I hunted last year(manitoulin), could definitely take double tags!
We had 3 locals hunting the property, all had doe tags that they pretty much tore up and threw in the garbage! Not because they couldnt fill them, because they were "buck hunters". I didnt have a doe tag and saw well over 40 does in 4.5 days hunting. This is on a 600 acre tract of land. My group now has exclusive use on 4 adjoining properties totalling just under 1400 acres. My guess is we are looking at a huntable population of 100+ deer. There is no way 4 of us can even put a dent in this population even with double tags! Now I can understand why 70% of the accidents on the island are deer related! theres just too many! |
RE: Everyone get drawn for a doe tag?
Swampthing,
That's exactly my point, last year alone I know of 4 people that damaged vehicles because of deer and the area we hunt moose in has never had deer in it and in the last 2 years we're finding deer as they push farther north. |
RE: Everyone get drawn for a doe tag?
I have one here for 68A, just outside my door and only 30 secoonds from my hunting area.

RE: Everyone get drawn for a doe tag?
I got one in zone 47, and so far our gang is 6 for 7 (of 16). I think the unsuccessful guys aren't calling me.
