Want to hunt Caribou

I live in Wisconsin and would like to know what is the cheapest possible way to hunt Caribou and where. Would like to take my 2 sons and would be happy with 2 Caribou just for the meat and the bonding time. Need to be able to drive there from Wisconsin. Would hunt late2005 early2006? Any help would be great.

See the thread titled "Quebec Winter Caribou Hunting" and go early! Book your hunt for somewhere in the Nov15- 25th to have the best odds of hitting the herds. Also, you can up your odds of success if you go with Mirage. If the herds arent there, they have choppers to take you out to the animals for an additional fee of course.

I don't think driving from Wisconsin to northern Quebec would be practical.

I'd google outfitters in northern Ontario or Nunavut.

Wisconsin to northern Quebec isn't that unreasonable. I drive from Mid-Michigan every year. I've met guys up there from Pennsylvania, New Jersy, South Carolina, Minnesota, Louisiana and many other places. It is a long drive but with a good partner and a dependable vehicle all things considered it's a resonably practical hunt. We go to Mirage every year Nov. 30 to Dec.3 and have always filled up.

I luv guys like you, g-a-h, but don't forget Ohio. We met one guy that drives up solo from there every year.

What can I say except 'bon voyage',

Doug
