Well its that time again for me, no hunting until August but spring bear maybe. I thought i would post my pics of how my year went and thought it would be great if you folks would do the same. I think we have a small enough group here that we shouldn't have a big flood of pics. My boar was taken May 6th, 150 yards with my 7mm 1/2 mile east of my farm. Elk was taken August 23rd i think, 30 yards shot with the mathews, 1 mile south of the farm. Mule deer was taken in September, 25 yard shot a few miles south of Saskatoon. Whitetail was taken November 19, 150 yards with my 7mm 1 mile south of the farm.

Looks like you had a good season and your freezer is nicely packed with good eats till next August!

I haven't quite thrown in the towel, still hoping to get out a few more times but she is getting very close! So I'll wait to add my harvest for a few more days. Thus far it ain't my year of big bone for the wall but the butcher knives, wrap and freezer's have took a healthy beating..lol! All good.

Ya its just you Terry, lol naw actually he is a weird looiking fella hey. He has some character i'll say that much. I told dad maybe we used a bit too much chemical on that canola field. Actually i never even noticed his rack at all until i arrowed him and he stopped about 100 yards away for 5 minutes of so. I put the binos on him and was thinking caribou but turned out to be an elk.

What no moose within a couple miles of the farm? ;)

Actually no. The population in my area was hit very hard with ticks 3 or 4 winters ago and the donkeys haven't seemed to rebound just yet. When i was younger i rarely went a day checking the trapline when i would not see a moose. Saw one moose this year and that was 1/2 mile back in the boonies. That particular winter was very very harsh on the animals. No b.s here but within the distance from my neighbor to the east and west (maybe 5 miles) we found 4 dead moose in the treelines one afternoon while quading. Looked as though the critters had just laid down and gone too sleep. My big worry or question was how many didn't make it that we never found? Obviously quite a few that year, the draw quotas have been cut back and the regular season closed completely. Good ideas but 3 years too late. Had fellas up hunting drawn for moose last year that spent 5 days and never cut a track. Numbers are really down but hopefully with the wet summer we had, and a good snowfall will helpem out.

Got this doe north of my farm WMZ 36 in Saskatchewan. Never seen this much fat on a doe. She's been eating well due to the late harvest. Shot her coming out of a draw before sunset. I'm still holding out on the big bruiser but as far as im concerned any deer is a good deer. I love hunting either way so getting anything is rewarding in my books.
