We will see you there. Have a Red F150 with a wood rack and a snow machine. Hunt should be good, today the animals are coming down LA1 and will be in the area during our hunt. We will be in the lodge to hunt early 30th and can give you guys an update if you are coming in afternoon of the 30th. Weather is not too extreme so the animals will be milling around the Laforge Road and East of 490.

Have a safe trip.

Where are you leaving from? You could be in for a hell of a drive doing it in 2 days. We're from N.E.Pa. (20 miles south of Binghampton,NY.) and are leaving the 28th. We stay in Amos the first night and Radison the 2nd. This puts us in camp early afternoon on the 30th to get some hunting in.

Looks like they'll be a few of us there together. We should get there the afternoon of the 30th. We'll be in a newer crew cab Chevy towing a small enclosed trailer with Pa. plates. I believe it's dark blue.

Safe Travels on good luck to all.

We are leaveing from Syracuse sometime on the 28th driving as far as we can. Our plan is to drive to 381, get some rest and then drive the remainder of the way the next morning. We are hoping to be there by noon or so on the 30th. There are 4 of us in 2 trucks, a silver dodge quad cab and a white chevy crew cab.
Have a safe trip and we will see you there.

Just to give you some idea of driving times.

You have about a 2 hour jump on us. We leave about 6 in the morning and get to Amos around 6-7 pm. So it will probably take you 10 hours or so, then you'll have another 560 Km's to 381 from Amos. Depending on the road conditions speeds 45mph average would not be out of the norm.

Not far out of Ottawa your off highways and driving 2 lanes through towns and such.

Once you're at 381 you're damn near got it made.

Default Back from Mirage outfitters

Hello all, the caribou moved from the end of laforge 1 road km106 down to km m42 while we were there it is a 70.2 mile drive from mirage, many caribou but not huge numbers. We harvested six and saw some huge bulls with no horns that we could not harvest but what a great sight. Meals and accomodations at mirage were good, they gave us turkey on thanksgiving day which was nice, gas was 181. per liter there, you see many ptarmigan a few spruce grouse, many fox red and black, we saw 2 wolves ,a marten, a varinig hare,
a mink, and it was a great trip we hope and plan to go back in four years only because the next three years have already planned out for family trips.
When we left the caribou had moved down to km 20 and below and were crossing between la1 and la2 on the transtiaga raod, every one was tagging out.
Wonderful trip we learned alot for our first time , I suggest going with someone who has done it before, the rules for James bay unit are different than Quebec and you wont know that until you are there or some one tells you.
Good luck to everyone and now I must process my two boos.
