Just got off the phone with kisk. they said there are caribou from the dam up and north. about 1000 have came through. said they are moving slow because a lot of water is still open. temp around -5C and 4 inches of snow on the ground. helicopter says there are more further north.

we are leaving on the 19th to go to Kiss, good luck all, will let you know how it goes

Heading up to Mirage Nov. 30 ,First caribou hunt and was wondering if any of you pro's had any guess how the hunting looks this year since I read alot of bad news from last year.

Notice that it now cost $2.00 to view the caribou migration maps. Guess the days of the nanny state providing free services are going away, although I wonder if this will save any money when compared to the extra hunters who came hunting because the information that was readily available.

just heard from the camp the boos are scattered still a lot of them to the north. The lakes are not frozen yet, plenty of sleds getting wet. This should get better real soon though. good luck

So how did the first group of guys make out..any details?

:)Got into kisk on the 13th traveled the roads on 14th only few bous around lakes not frozen some small bays have about 3" ice , on monday some coming through above dam from km 70 to km 106 tagged 6 -3 were decent bulls / tuesday warm didnt see much colder tue pm / wed seeing many more bous some crossing on thin ice saw 4 break through all got out / we tagged out by noon 10 more bous alot of big bulls no horns, back off road about 1 mile took 5 hours to get them all out / but it was all worth it , Looks like the next few hunts will be excellent we also saw alot of bous on the way out north of Sakimi, To ALL be careful on the ice!!! We all had a great time. The facilities and staff at kisk are by far the best , a BIG THANKS TO ALL OF THEM
