The new tracking map does not look too good for the later hunts. Some have already crossed the Trans-Taiga and in the resident only zone. Looks a bit like 06, except earlier. Early hunters please post any info as soon as you can. Our hunt starts the 27th.

We are going week from sat and going in day early if i take my laptop can i post from up there maybe through mirage?(Staying with donat?!)
|
Mirage has wifi in certain areas. I looked at the most recent map and I don't like what I'm seeing. If they don't dig in and hold up for a while it's going to be a tough hunt.

I don't like what the maps are showing either, but I also try to remember that the map is representative of the total herd. They are calling for rain over the week end and warm temps here in Northern Ontario and warm temps above normal for next week. The head of the herd didn't travel South as far this time as they did the on the last map. Hopefully the warm weather slows them down more or holds them where they are.

Hey CWC who are you hunting with?
|
I'm sure hoping they put the brakes on. Beginning to wonder if I should bring the snow machine. Does anyone know if there are any special permits required to bring your own snowmobile.
|
I was thinking about bringing our snowmobiles, but the ice on the lakes is not good yet CWC. I live in Northern Ontario and our weather has been similar to what they have been getting and we are no where near having ice on our lakes yet. I doubt their ice would be good enough to support a snowmobile right now but maybe in 3 weeks it will.

CWC I hunted Mirage in 2007. The hunting was great cause we hit the migration right on.
