Registry Card (paper), with Gun?

Seems that the bowhunting woods are getting slower so I' m looking forward to the gun hunt.

Do I need to keep my registration paper (card), with my gun or will my PAL do?

Lost the card...that' s why the question and don' t want them to take my new shotgun.

Call the OPP or the gun registry phone #. As far as I know you' re in deep doggy doo if you don' t have all of your paperwork with you.

By law the card must accompany the gun.

I was told as long as you have your PAL on you fish & wildlife or RCMP can swipe it and all your registerd guns are on the computer. Stubble, where did you see that you need the paper to accompany the gun? JDinAB

JD-I was told this over the phone by a person from the cfc when having a firearm transfered to myself. It was explained that by law the firearms registration certificate must be present with the firearm at all times.

I have never seen a computer that can swipe your PAL/POL or Outdoors Card here in Ontario.
We don' t have RCMP like you do out west as their job here is for Schedual 1 Offences only and not street patrol and I haven' t seen an RCMP vehicle in at least 5 years.
I was stopped in Martin River by a game warden and 2 OPP and they asked for my PAL and told me I have to carry the Registration Cert. at all times as it was up to the officers descretion if they wanted to see it. If you don' t have it they can sieze your gun(s) for 14 pending you showing proof of registration. After 14 days your gun is forfitted to the crown (What a pantload).

The P.C.' s that just lost power in Ontario said they want nothing to do with the registration but the stupid Liberals just won our election and they are PRO Registry.
Ontario is screwed now..... give it time.

When I bought my licenses the guy told me to have 3 things with me:
1. Drivers license
2. PAL/POL
3. Hunting license

He was told to tell all customers this by fish & w.l. & the RCMP. The new drivers license' s have the magnetic strip just as the PAL/POL' s do. The info is " supposed" to be in a database to speed up the checking process. Now I haven' t been stopped this year yet to test the theory, but there' s no way I' m carrying around all those licenses as well as my paperwork for the guns. I know Alberta isn' t enforcing the gun laws like some of the other provinces and maybe that' s why I was told what I was. If I do get checked I' ll let you know what happens...hopefully not from the slammer[:o] JDinAB
