Just curious,, what do your butchers charge??
The guy we were using charges $42 a deer. cut any way you want, with the hide off. I believe $.38 a pound for moose(drop off weight). We do our own now,, backstraps and some steaks from the hinds,, everything else is cleaned and cubed for sausages. How much for sausages too?? the guy we use is on average $1.90 a lb. for excellent smoked sausages, kielbasa and pepperets. thats return weight,, pork included. |

My butcher usually charges 30 for a deer plus 10 for skinning Our moose was right in that ball park! I know it cost me 440 to have him cut As for the sausage I usually get pepperettes done and they were 2.50/ lb 2 years ago one of the guys in camp had his Bull cut in Ignace and it was 150.00 US which I thought would be worth it AL |
