Effects of Canadian gun law change...

Any word coming from Canada on any changes that the abolishment of the registry will have on transporting firearms over the border?

Don't expect much to change. Still won't be able to bring up handguns. The current $25 to bring up to 3 firearms is a deal. only takes minutes at the border to clear them thru. my best friend lives in Minnesota with some great deer property.I've been told by US customs it would take me 6 months to get paperwork to take a firearm into states. he actually told me " couldn't you just borrow one ? ".

you can fax in the form to ATF lakehunter and first time might be 6 weeks or so but once your approved once then turn around is usually couple weeks. Give them a fax number and they'll fax back your documents for crossing into US. No charge and nice and easy.

Coming to Canada won't have any change with the lg rgistry abolished. Registration was for Canadian citizens so US ones visiting still have same thing to do.
