ITS ALMOST HERE, (OCT 4 ) THE ALBERTA MOOSE HUNT I WAITED 3 YEARS FOR.
I SPOKE WITH MY OUTFITTER ( TROPHY HUNTERS ALBERTA), HE TOLD ME I WILL BE HUNTING (WMU 412) DOES ANYONE HAVE INFO ON THIS AREA? IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD KNOW? ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED---------I ALSO PURCHASED A MULE DEER & BEAR TAG JUST IN CASE

412 is a mountain/foothills zone. GET IN SHAPE you may be walking up and down a lot. I would definately get a wolf licence and pack a preditor call or a fawn disdress call in my pocket at all times. If you see or hear a wolf you can call it in and collect a unique trophy. Check what you have to do for permits to take it home though. You might just want to take pictures and sell the pelt in Alberta.

Most of Alberta is crawling with white-tails it seems. And there are some giant bucks up here. Ask your outfitter if he has any white-tail authorizations. You may kick your own butt all the way back home if you run into a B&C white-tail and have no licence. Of course if you get the white-tail permit you will be tempted to come back to Alberta in Nov. for the rut when smart deer do dumb things.

Good luck with the moose hunt, they should be calling in Oct. and that is the mostest funnest time to hunt them.
