Teulon, MB

I was wondering if anyone knew how the deer hunting is in the Teulon area. I have a friend with some land that has invited me to hunt. I've heard great things about the Manitoba deer. Is this a good area?

Thanks

I hunt about 25 km North west of Teulon so about the same area. Been hunting the area forover 20 years and have harvested some real bruisers from the area. There aren't as many deer as you see in southern Manitoba but in my humble opinion generally the size of the deer are bigger. I've harvested 5-140 to 160 class deer from the Inwood area (as stated just north of Teulon and if you go alittle farther north on #17 you will hit Chatfied. Some amazing deer up there! I got one 6 years ago that would have easily been a 170 class 4x4 but one of the G3s was broken off (yes a 4x4) The base of the antlers was bigger than my wrist. HUGE MASS AND BODY SIZE!!!! Each year I enter the big body deer contest out of Poplarfield (another 20 km north of Chatfield). That year I was fairly confident that I would win the contest because it weighed out at 265 lbs. dressed. I came in third! ;( Something real cool to check out is the Big Buck social held in Poplarfield the last Sat. night of the rifle season. You'll see alot of nice racks on display. Well worth the trip. Also in Gunton they have a big Buck night on the Sat.the week after the season. Lots of nice racks on display but you don't have the music, dancing, and partying as they do in Poplarfield but still a nice night to check out. I have included a pic of my ML and rifle bucks from Inwood 2 years ago.
