Turkey Hunters course
Has everyone taken the course. My son and I are going to Chatham March 29th for the course. I' m not too sure I will ever use it But its good to have and it will give my son and I another thing to do together
Spring is usually a dull time around here cause the Hockey season ends so maybe this will give us something to do AL |
RE: Turkey Hunters course
There were a lot of people at the seminar that I told who never intended to hunt. A large psrt of the course is about Turkey habitat, habits, etc.

RE: Turkey Hunters course
Hook Line & Sinker and I do not mean the sales pitch at the seminars. I am talking about the turkeys after you get out there hunting. I have been hunting them for many years now and I look forward to them even more than deer hunting.
The coarse is good in that it shows or explains the unique saftey hazards that comes with turkey hunting. They also explain rules and regulations, well they did when I went there. Good Luck with anyone starting out in the " TAA" ... TURKEY ADDICTED ANOMIMOUS |
RE: Turkey Hunters course
Our NWTF dinner is this weekend coming, and I do support the growth of the sport through them! But right now I think the only reason I am going to this seminar is for my son. He really wants it

RE: Turkey Hunters course
littleal many years ago I talked my dad into takeing the coarse with me (close to 10 years ago now). I did that becasue I wanted someone to hunt with. Now he is hooked more than I am. Last year he took two with the bow, he will be 72 this summer :) .
Turkeys are a very addictive bird to hunt, not to mention they taste great :D. |
RE: Turkey Hunters course
I`ve taken the course but found most of it a waste. You would learn more from a good video on how to hunt turkeys then they teach at the course. The safety side should be the main topic.

RE: Turkey Hunters course
I agree with the " sales pitch comments" but it is also tough to get it out of your system once you are hooked. From a hunting standpoint we all take time off for deer or moose, never did i think i would take a week off work for birds. Well i should be out for the week begining in May to try and cure this adiction.
Heck i think i even have the mouth calls sounding good this year. Take a kid hunting and see the excitement when they hear the gobble or watch the strut. |
