Hey guys, i have got a question about all this WMU stuff. i am new to all this and i am registered to get my PAL in less than a month and then i will take the H1 course. i dont understand the whole WMU thing. i have found maps showing all the WMU but can anyone just drive up to one, walk in with a gun and shoot a deer? im sure ill learn this in my H1 course, but i would like to know now, Thanks.

The WMU is a designated area to hunt. Each WMU has its own particular season for bow, muzzleloader/rifle/shotgun. Each may also have different limits - bucks only, extra doe tags available , etc. Glad you're joining the hunting fraternity. Just remember, you don't have to shoot anything to have a good time. And take a friend along , introduce others to the great outdoors. Good luck.w.

Remember, each WMU has different regulations (season time, firearms aloud, etc.) and it differs depending on what type of game your after! Private land requires land owner permission... respect that! A successful hunt isn't about shooting something! |
