ORIGINAL: lethalconnection

Well considering Alberta does have the world record for the biggest Mulie I would have to say that Canada definetly has the biggest bucks. Pic of the Broder Buck.
And Sask has the world record typical whitetail buck.

Wayne Zaft is still the man with his recordWhitetail (typical) from the Bow Zone in Alberta!!

RE: Record Bucks

Too bad Zaft got screwed by that common base on the one side or his score would have been really great. Shows scoring isn't the end all be all because that is some kinda deer commom base or not. What a hog.

RE: Record Bucks

Hey here some info i found on the worlds best place to hunt whitetails
Alberta — While this province's deer population is only 250,000 strong, Alberta makes up for a lack of quantity with tremendous quality. Bucks are world class huge here: the province has a B&C record typical of 204 2/8 inches; a non-typical B&C record of 279 6/8 inches; a P&Y record typical of 197 1/8 inches (Note: Wayne Zaft's 2001 Alberta typical had a potential world record entry score of 206 7/8 inches before Pope & Young panel scoring reduced the final numbers down to 172 5/8 inches); and a P&Y non-typical record of 241 2/8 inches. This Canadian province may very well be the North American continent's best bet to produce the next world record whitetail. I got this info from ESPN2. Here is what there ratings where for the Top ten places to hunt whitetails.
1.Alberta:D
2.Wisconsin
3.Illinois
4.Iowa
5.Kansas
6.Texas
7.Minnesota
8.Kentucky
9.Saskatchewan:D
10.Ohio

I would love to hunt the "zone" one day, think thereone of the next WR's will be taken there...Butthere are still a few big bucks in the states guys, remember the Hole in the Horn and Missouri monarch? Or this guy, from Maryland:

Found him dead last year while shed hunting!

RE: Record Bucks

Well maybe I should include just one more to prove we have nothing for deer in saskatchewan....lol. 230 NT from 05'

That said lots of good deer areas to choose from with the boom in Pop. in most of NA. Best place is the one your hunting...just never know when one of us will be pictured by a brute like these.

Zaft buck is an awesome typical, it truly is a pretty rack and who cares what it officially was carded. IMHO having seen replicas of both up close it is a much nicer rack/mount than Mr. Hansens world record.
