Hey JD in Alberta,

Nice mulie, what's the spread on him? Nice mount too, where didyou get him done? I was raised on mulie hunting back in Sask, still got a soft spot for them, used to love to early season muzzleloader hunts in the south, everybody is all about the whitetails but it's tough to beat a good mulie hunt in my books. As for where I got this buck, like they say "I could tell you but I'd have to kill you ;)"

Sam he's just shy of 26", I liked him because of thenon-typ. don't come across too many. I have a friend that does taxidermy here in Calgary. As for yours...didn't want to know where you got him, just where you live in Ab? I know hunting spots are secret here :D

Hi JD, I have a couple of questions for you. First, my whitetail guide told me he thinks abig mature muley buck is more waryand tougher to get than a mature whitetail, do you concurr? And also, do you have albino and piebalds in Alberta? I have never seen any in my hunting mags. Thanks.

Hey JD

I misunderstood your question about the secret hunting spot, but you are right it's secret...:D I live just outside of Edmonton and hunt north of here usually. I actuallyhunt more moose then whitetail or mulies but if the shot at a decent buck arises I'm not afraid to fill my tags.

Early...I love mulies but I still think the whitetail is a touch more wary and smarter. I think any deer has to be quite smart to grow to be old, but I have found whitetails to be like ghosts at times. As for Piebalds and Albinos I've seen pics of albinos but never seen one, no piebalds here as far as I know.

Sam...I do a yearly trip up to Lac La Biche every year for a big W.T. never got a brute yet but I know it'll happen one day.

Stick with the hunt, you're right one day you will get a chance, remember it only takes once. I take my video camera so if I pass something upI can still take a look later and show my buddies whats I saw. Don't get me wrong as much as I like shoting camera I prefer shooting my 30-06.

I go to Ontario Canada once a year to hunt and the reason we dont hear and seemore from up North is because they dont want us going up there and killing big bucks.
