Default what's the term called

When you have peep type sights and also something like a red dot sight, and set it up so
that when you are looking thru the peep sight, it's aligned with the red dot also?
It's on the tip of my tongue.....co- something, I think.
Someone help me with this term?

Are you talking about bore sighting? That is normally done with scopes.

Folks mistakenly call this “co-witness.”

It’s really co-sighting, as “co-witness” is the superimposition the images from both your left and right eye into the same image in your brain.

But about 15-20yrs ago, when red dots really started becoming hot, a bunch of folks started saying, “cowitness” to describe co-sighting two sights together, and it has become the common vernacular.

In the old military we called it sync, multiple sights to the same point or even multiple guns on the same platform to the same point.
