BEFUDDLED ? (pics)
2 Attachment(s)
Trying to keep this as simple as I can. Here are the givens:
.204 Ruger 32 grain Hornady Vmax, zeroed at 200 yards with mounts that are closer to low(s) than medium(s) on a 10-40X50 scope. Hold on groundhog shot is about 5 inches above center mass at 300 to 300 + yards. If not a hit, close enough to make that chuck go under ground. Received a set of Hi(s) for a present, the first I have ever owned. Let's give them a whirl. I changed my zero to 100 yards (expediency), but all of the above stayed the same, except I moved my hold up to 7 inches and the result was 2 really ugly shots at <340> yards. Two grainy pics attached show bullet impact, good enough to see they were down the middle, but more than a foot high. Either the change in zero or the Hi(s), or a combination of both created this. Again BEFUDDLED ! ! ! Any ideas out there, to what created this scenario---I am lost. fossil |
A target with a 5 shot group zeroed at 100 & the same zeroed at 200 would be the best way to tell ??
