new scope
I need some advice on a new scope for my Rem 700 .308. I already have a Leupold VX-III 6.5x20x40mm with a varmint reticle outfitted on the rifle. I am of course very pleased with the performance of the Leupold but am looking for a new scope set up. A tactical scope is more of what I’m leaning on getting. I’m trying to get around 20x power ranges and get a little bit bigger objective lens 40mm 50mm 56mm etc. Millett and Vortex are two that I have been looking at recently and need your guy’s opinion on. In particular here are the specific two I am curious on:
Millett http://www.millettsights.com/scopes/lrs/ http://www.midwayusa.com/product/287...th-rings-matte Vortex http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/...-1-moa-reticle http://www.midwayusa.com/product/650...-reticle-matte |
What's your budget. Over @ SWFA, they have the SS line which are VERY GOOD units. Check it out. I'm also quite familiar with the Vortex line and they too are very serviceable. I'd also recommend that you look at the Weaver tactical line. Good luck.

Bugs, the budget is around 400-600 but with that I know that you get what you pay for in optics so I'm not trying to let that be a big factor, but in regards to that the brands i have been looking at have my price range for the power and type of scope I want. I am also factoring in now the warranty and customer service, which vortex as you mentioned has become a higher interest with their lifetime warranty. I have had people mention Weaver a lot recently what more do you/people know about Weaver?
